The City of Glendale

Glendale is a city that started out as desert and grew into the mighty town it is today. Along with Avondale, it is the gateway city to the West Valley. This is also the sport haven of the Valley. Let West Valley Pawn tell you why:

Glendale's History

Glendale herself was but desert land when William John Murphy, the soon to be founder of the city, was commissioned to create the Arizona Canal; the canal stretching from Granite Reef to New River. He finished his commission in 1885, but it landed him in significant debt. It was then that he came with the idea of Grand Avenue (still around today) as the best means of reaching this city. He also made similar success by selling off the land south of the Canal. Finally, The Beet Sugar Factory, built in 1906, helped spearhead the growth of the town. Self styled as "Arizona's Antique Capital," Glendale has a lot of its early structure intact.

Glendale Today

Nowadays, Glendale is turning into a sports haven thanks to two very recent additions to the town for our state's sports teams: The University of Phoenix Stadium and Gila River Arena. UoP Stadium is, naturally, the home stadium of the Arizona Cardinals Football Team. Gila River Arena is the home stadium of the Arizona Coyotes Hockey Team. While these are great venues to visit, they don't come entirely cheap. WVP can help with that.

How WVP helps Glendale

Bottom line, we offer pawn loans and title loans (through our partnership with Phoenix Title Loans, LLC) so you can enjoy life how you see fit. With the money you receive from us, you can go to the big game and watch the Cardinals or Coyotes; whichever sport you prefer. Or if you want to watch the game at home with friends and tailgate at home, we have some great used TVs and stereos you can purchase. Finally, for the ladies, we have a good selection of jewelry to purchase to expand your wardrobe collection.
